Open Space

The questions we explored guided us into an Open Space process where we created space and time to explore the questions that mattered to us. It built our confidence as we were guided by the law of two feet, trusting in the 4 principles of Open Space that whoever shows up are the right people, whatever happens is the only thing that could have, when it’s over it’s over and whatever time it starts is when it begins. We danced like butterflies and bumblebees in the lightly held structure of Open Space and deepened our learning, relationships and resources with each other as we inquired together.

We learned that Open Space works best when things are not tightly controlled and no clearly defined outcome is shaping and forming our work and inquiry together. It’s best when it’s open and fully inclusive with a whole hearted invitation to all stakeholders involved.

About Our Venue

The Cloquet Forestry Center, located 135 miles north of St. Paul campus, AND JUST 30 MINUTES FROM DULUTH, offers a beautiful setting and holding for our work together.  It's home to trees of many ages, sizes and species. The northern Minnesota location is also the natural habitat for diverse wildlife. It’s not unusual to see moose, wolves, bears, lynx, bobcats, porcupines, pine martins, hares, goshawks, deer, and ruffed grouse.

located within the Fond du Lac Indian Reservation, CFC partnerS with the tribe on forest management and educational programming.
